BAGHDAD (AP) - At least three people have been killed by a suicide car bombing at a police checkpoint in Anbar province, west of Baghdad.
A police official says a suicide bomber detonated his explosives at the checkpoint about 45 miles west of Baghdad in an area that was once considered a Sunni insurgent stronghold. Four civilians and three police officers were also injured in the blast.
In all 24 people have been killed by seven bombings in Anbar province since July 20th.
Also today, separate roadside bombs in Mosul killed two Iraqi soldiers and wounded four others.
