BRUSSELS (AP) - The EU says the United States and five other countries dealing with Iran's nuclear program will likely take part in a meeting with that country's nuclear negotiator on Oct. 1.
Spokeswoman Cristina Gallach says it's not yet clear where EU foreign policy chief Javier Solana will meet with Iranian nuclear negotiator Saeed Jalili.
She says representatives of the six nations negotiating with Iran are also expected to be present, although the details have not yet been worked out. The six countries are the U.S., Britain, France, Russia, China and Germany.
The announcement of the upcoming meeting came after the United States and its partner nations accepted a proposal made last week by Iran for broader talks.
