WASHINGTON (AP) - Sen. Max Baucus' decision to release his long-awaited health care overhaul bill with no Republicans on board appears to dim the chances for a bipartisan compromise.
The Senate Finance Committee chairman will unveil the plan today but insists he'll keep negotiating.
But Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell says he doesn't expect the plan to win much GOP backing.
Baucus' plan is expected to call for co-ops to compete with private insurance companies.
The lack of a public option is already drawing fire from liberals.
