TEHRAN, Iran (AP) - An Iranian prosecutor says three Americans arrested in July after crossing the country's border with Iraq are still under investigation.
The Tehran prosecutor also raised the government's concern about 11 Iranians it says are being held in the U.S., including some who it claims were initially abducted in Europe.
Abbas Jafari Dowlatabadi did not link the two issues in remarks Tuesday, but Iranian officils have increasingly mentioned them together.
U.S. officials have been concerned since the arrest of the three Americans that Iran would try to use them as bargaining chips in its dealings with the West.
The families of the Americans say they were trekking in norhern Iraq and accidentally strayed over the unmarked border with Iran.
