Democrats caucus on health care

WASHINGTON (AP) - Democratic leaders plan to begin reading a health care overhaul bill to rank-and-file Democats at a caucus meeting today.

President Barack Obama, meanwhile, will discuss the legislation with members of the Congressional Black Caucus and the Congressional Hispanic Caucus.

A dozen socially conservative Democrats still say they won't support the legislation without a prohibition on paying for abortions with federal money. Michigan Democrat Bart Stupak wrote a provision along those lines for a House bill approved last November, but the Senate replaced it with wording he considers unacceptable.
