AP sources: New charges eyed for Blackwater

WASHINGTON (AP) - Sources say federal weapons charges could be filed against against the former president and two other former employees of the private security company once known as Blackwater.

People close to the investigation tell The Associated Press the potential charges stem from a probe into whether the firm illegally stockpiled automatic rifles at the company's North Carolina headquarters.

The officials spoke on condition of anonymity because they are not authorized to discuss the investigation.

A spokesman for the firm declined to comment, and the former company president now under scrutiny, Gary Jackson, said he'd heard nothing of possible charges. The company has changed its name from Blackwater to Xe.
