LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) - Film actor and Lexington native Michael Shannon is set to highlight a fundraiser for Friends of the Kentucky Theatre in Lexington on April 26.
The organization is hoping to raise $1.5 million for technology upgrades and other renovations for the 90-year-old downtown landmark.
Shannon has appeared in movies such as Pearl Harbor with Ben Affleck and Vanilla Sky with Tom Cruise. In 2009, he received an Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actor for his work in Revolutionary Road.
Shannon set to appear in the Superman movie Man of Steel alongside Kevin Costner, Diane Lane and Amy Adams.
The Friends of the Kentucky Theatre is a non-profit organization with the mission to preserve, renovate and enhance the Kentucky Theatre and create a fund for its continued maintenance over the coming years.
