JOHNSTON, R.I. (AP) - Rhode Island police say they believe a 2-year-old boy was taken unharmed from his home by the suspect in an early morning double homicide.
Deputy Police Chief Daniel Parrillo tells The Associated Press that officers were called to the Johnston home at about 5:20 a.m. Sunday. They found the bodies there and discovered that 2-year-old Isaih Perez had been kidnapped shortly after the killings.
Authorities say they believe 22-year-old Malcolm Crowell of Providence has the boy. They say he should be considered armed and dangerous and may be in a small black car.
Parrillo says they are still working to determine the relationships among Crowell, the boy and the two homicide victims.
Johnston is a town of 30,000 residents less than 10 miles from Providence.
