Anti-Taliban activist may have been target

PESHAWAR, Pakistan (AP) - Officials say a suicide bomber in northwest Pakistan may have been targeting an anti-Taliban activist when he attacked a mosque, killing 50 people.

Local officials say at least 80 others were wounded.
The blast was the latest in a series of attacks to hit mosques and Sufi shrines in Pakistan, and underscored a relentless security challenge.

A villager helping in the rescue says some of the dead are elderly people and children.
