Bodyguard expected to testify against Jackson doc

LOS ANGELES (AP) - A judge in Los Angeles will be hearing testimony today from a man who worked as a bodyguard for Michael Jackson.

Alberto Alvarez is expected to shed some light on the events that took place on the day Jackson died.

Prosecutors say he was ordered by Dr. Conrad Murray to conceal syringes and other items before calling 911.

His testimony comes at a hearing that will determine whether there's enough evidence to try Murray on a charge of involuntary manslaughter.

The testimony could back up the argument from prosecutors that Murray showed "an extreme deviation from the standard of care" by giving him a powerful anesthetic without the right equipment, and then concealing it. They also say he botched efforts to resuscitate Jackson.
