CA lawmakers respond to rampage

GOLETA, Calif. (AP) - California lawmakers have introduced legislation in the State Assembly following Friday's shooting and stabbing rampage at University of California, Santa Barbara, that killed six students.

One proposal would create a gun violence restraining order that could be sought from a judge by law enforcement at the request of family members and friends.

Another would establish statewide protocols for law enforcement officers who are called to check on mentally troubled people.
