Crews fight FL fire that's burned 16,000 acres

MIMS, Fla. (AP) - Crews from across Florida will give firefighters a break as the state's first significant wildfire of the year continues to burn.
Officials in central Florida are keeping a close watch Thursday on the winds, which forced a brief closure of Interstate 95 on Wednesday. Authorities say intermittent road closures could occur for the rest of the week.
The fire has burned 16,000 acres, or 25 square miles, since it was first reported Monday. Officials say the fire is about 25 percent contained.
The blaze is about 25 miles north of the Kennedy Space Center, but NASA has said operations there are not affected.
Parts of Florida have seen their driest few months in nearly 80 years, setting the stage for a very active fire season.
