COVINGTON, Ky. (AP) - A former Ben-Gals cheerleader who is facing a sex abuse charge and her mother, who's accused of tampering with evidence in the case, both say they plan to testify at trial.
Former northern Kentucky high school teacher and Ben-Gal Sarah Jones and her mother, Cheryl Jones, are scheduled for trial in October. Sarah Jones is accused of having a sexual relationship with a student.
Motions to dismiss are pending in Kenton County Circuit Court, and The Kentucky Enquirer (http://bit.ly/NTAUwY ) says they're to be heard July 30.
The 27-year-old former English teacher at Dixie Heights High in Edgewood and her mother, who recently retired as principal of Twenhofel Middle School in Kenton County, were interviewed on Independence attorney Eric Deters' radio show Tuesday on WQRT-AM in Cincinnati. Deters represents both women.
