Lexington police investigating early morning murder


LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - Lexington Police are investigating an early morning murder.

Police were dispatched to 2001 Cambridge Drive in response to an assault around 7:40am Saturday morning. When they arrived on the scene officers found the victim, who they're describing as an elderly male, on the ground severely injured. He was transported to UK Hospital with life-threatening injuries where he later died.

The suspect, 42-year-old Claude E. Dalrymple was also at the scene.

Police say the two males lived together in the apartment but they had no relationship to each other. Police have arrested Dalrymple and charged him with Murder. The incident is still under investigation.
