Police chiefs going to WH to discuss terror fight

WASHINGTON (AP) - Senior state and local law enforcement officials are meeting at the White House to discuss ways to combat violent extremism and homegrown terrorism.

The high-level gathering Wednesday is part of the Obama administration's plan to help local law enforcement fight terrorism in communities across the country.

According to an agenda for the event, senior federal counterterrorism officials will present analyses of homegrown extremist cases to help police detect people plotting attacks.
