WASHINGTON (AP) - More than 70 percent of Americans responding to a new poll say high gas prices are causing at least some hardship, and 40 percent say the squeeze is serious.
It's worse for older Americans with 76 percent of seniors expressing hardship. It was 68 percent in March.
The Associated Press-GfK poll shows Americans may scale back vacations and drive less.
Just 29 percent said rising fuel prices are not causing a negative impact on their finances.
