SINGAPORE (AP) - Qantas has grounded its 6 superjumbo jets after one of them blew out an engine shortly after leaving Singapore today.
The plane was able to make a safe emergency landing in Singapore and the airline says none of the 459 people on board was hurt.
Qantas says there was no explosion, but passengers and people on the ground say they heard blasts. Flames also shot from the engine and large metal chunks fell from the sky.
The flight is a regular service that flies between Sydney, Singapore and London.
