Couple arrested in toddler's death to be arraigned in Ohio Wednesday

RICHMOND, Ky. (WKYT) - A couple arrested in Richmond in connection with the death of a one-year-old, are scheduled to be arraigned in Ohio this week.

According to a Cincinnati TV station, Whitney John, 26 and Nathan Ritze, 25, are scheduled to be arraigned in Hillsboro Ohio on Wednesday at 8am.

The couple is being charged with abuse of a corpse and tampering with physical evidence after the remains of a one-year-old boy were discovered by authorities in a wooded area of Hillsboro County, Ohio.

Police in Ohio discovered an address for Johnson and Ritze in Richmond, Kentucky. They immediately contacted Richmond Police who arrested the couple for being fugitives from Ohio.

In Madison County District Court on Monday, Johnson and Ritze were arraigned on the fugitive charge. Both parties waived their right to an extradition trial in Kentucky.
