The Salvation Army in Lexington has set up a donation center in Fayette Mall to collect items for those affected by the recent tornadoes.
The following NEW and UNUSED items for men, women and children will be accepted:
• Bottled water (individual sizes and gallon containers)
• Cleaning supplies (brooms, mops, buckets, trash bags, and cleaning solutions
• Laundry detergent
• Paper supplies
• Work gloves
• Diapers (all sizes)
• Personal care items (toothpaste, toothbrush, shampoo, etc.)
• Socks
• Underwear
• Towels and washcloths
• Books
• Coloring books
• Crayons
• Non-perishable food items
Salvation Army volunteers will be available beginning Wednesday through Saturday, March 10, during regular mall hours. Items can be dropped off in the area in front of Boardwalk Treats near the Disney Store.
The Christian Appalachian Project is doing the same thing in the Hamburg Walmart parking lot. They will be accepting items and monetary donations until Saturday at 7:00 PM. If you'd like to donate clothing you can go to their main location in Lexington.
