RIVERSIDE, Calif. (AP) - A man who was trapped in boulders on a Southern California mountain for up to five days is hospitalized in good condition.
Riverside fire Capt. Bruce Vanderhorst says the man is being treated Tuesday for severe dehydration. His name wasn't released.
Ramon Llamas tells KTTV-TV that his dog, Mole (MOH'-lay), whimpered, tugged his pants leg and led him to some rocks Monday morning on Mount Rubidoux (ROO'-bih-doh) in Riverside.
He saw a man trapped in a hole between two boulders. He gave the man bottled water.
Vanderhorst says rescuers freed the man, but without his shoes or pants. He says the man seemed confused, telling rescuers he'd been there for both a day and for five days.
Llamas says he retrieved the man's dirty tennis shoes and will return them.
