Tropical Storm Don moving toward southern Texas

MIAMI (AP) - Tropical Storm Don is growing a little stronger but not forecast to become a hurricane as it moves across the Gulf of Mexico toward southeastern Texas.
The National Hurricane Center in Miami says Don's maximum sustained winds Thursday morning crept up to near 45 mph (75 kph) with gradual strengthening.
The storm is expected to reach the Texas coast late Friday or Saturday.
A tropical storm warning is in effect for the coast from Port Mansfield to San Luis Pass.
The storm is centered about 520 miles (840 kilometers) east-southeast of Corpus Christi, Texas, and is moving northwest at 14 mph (22 kph).
