Brother and sister charged after theft at Laurel County Walmart

LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. (WKYT) - A brother and sister face charges after investigators say they came up with a scheme to steal from a Walmart.

The Laurel County Sheriff's Office charged 36-year-old Peggy Cochran and 32-year-old Larry Cochran.

Deputies say Tuesday morning, Larry Cochran found an old receipt in the parking lot of a Walmart in southern Laurel County, then went into the store and stole the item on the receipt.

Deputies say he then gave that item to Peggy Cochran, who took it and the receipt to the service desk to return the item for money.

Deputies say Peggy Cochran also had three children with her at the time, who had not been sent to school.

Peggy Cochran has been charged with theft, endangering the welfare of a minor, and receiving stolen property.

Larry Cochran was charged with theft.
