Man convicted of 1969 murder of Clay County sheriff's deputy

CLAY COUNTY, Ky. (WKYT) - A man has been convicted of killing a Clay County sheriff's deputy, more than four decades after the crime.

On Friday, a jury found Oran Brumley guilty of murder, after less than two hours of deliberations.

Police say he killed Deputy Matt Sizemore in 1969.

The jury recommended Brumley serve a life sentence. He's already serving a murder sentence in Ohio.

Brumley will be formally sentenced for the murder of the deputy on December 2.
