Police: Cold weather played role in Estill County woman's death

ESTILL COUNTY, Ky. (WKYT) - Investigators think the cold weather played a role in the death of an Estill County woman Wednesday.

Kentucky State Police say 55-year-old Vickie Arvin was found dead around noon near Turkey Pen Road in rural Estill County.

Police think Arvin's car went off the road and got stuck on a creek bank.

They say Arvin fell into the creek after getting out of the car. Police say she was able to get out of the creek, but died next to her car.

Police think Arvin died as a result of exposure to the cold weather. Police say foul play does not appear to be a factor in Arvin's death.
