Admitted bogus beggar back in court

FRANKLIN COUNTY, Ky. (WKYT) - A man who admitted to scamming people in the Lexington area is in trouble again today. This time, with a central Kentucky judge.

You may remember Gary Thompson. Last year, he told WKYT he scammed people out of thousands of dollars by pretending to have a mental disability.

The State Journal reports police arrested Thompson in Frankfort Monday, and charged him with criminal trespassing because he wouldn't leave an apartment. During his arraignment, court workers say Thompson showed symptoms of a mental disability, so the Franklin District Judge waved his court costs and fined him $100. However, the judge soon found out Thompson was faking the disability, so she called him back into court.
