Seven killed in Knox County fire remembered, one year later

KNOX COUNTY, Ky. (WKYT) - One year ago, seven people died when a fire tore through a Knox County home.

On Sunday, friends and family members gathered at the site of the fire to remember the victims.

They released balloons in honor of Jesse Disney, his pregnant fiancee Nina Asher, her three children, and two other children staying the night at the home.

Investigators say they may never know what caused the fire because of how hot it burned.

What was left of the home was later torn down.

There's now a memorial for the seven victims in its place.
