Customer foils gas station robbery

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - Lexington Police say a customer at a shell gas station may have scared off a potential robber.

It happened around midnight Saturday.

Police say a man called in saying there was a suspicious man in the parking lot of the Shell gas station in Lexington Greene.

The customer says the man was in a silver car putting on on a ski mask.

He also said the potential robber had a firearm in his car as well.

Police say the once the man spotted the caller, he sped off.

Police said they put out an alert to other gas stations in the area.

Investigators are trying to find more details about the potential robber's vehicle.
