Storm causes flooding across Eastern Kentucky

PRESTONSBURG, Ky. (WKYT) - Storms brought heavy rains, flooding and lots of lightning to parts of Eastern Kentucky on Friday evening.

In Prestonsburg, there are reports that all downtown intersections are flooded.

The Prestonsburg High School and Pikeville High School football game schedule for Friday has been postponed until 7:00 p.m. Saturday due to the storm.

There is a Flash Flood Warning for Floyd, Johnson, Martin, Morgan, Pike until 3:00 a.m. There is also a Flash Flood Warning for Floyd, Johnson, Knott, Letcher, Magoffin, Martin, Morgan, Pike until 2:30 a.m.

There are also reports of serious flood concerns for the Big Sandy River Valley. At approximately 9:00 p.m., about 2 inches of rain was reported.
