37 wild horses missing in Harlan County; one found dead

HARLAN COUNTY, Ky. (WKYT) - The Harlan County Humane Society say 37 wild horses that they care for in the Dingo area of Harlan County have gone missing and one horse has been found dead.

On Friday, Humane Society officials say they discovered that 38 of the over 100 horses that they care for were missing.

State Police found one of the horses deceased and they now fear the same fate for the other 37.

Officials with Kentucky State Police say they are working with the Humane Society to try and figure out what happened.

They are asking anyone with information about the missing horses to contact Kentucky State Police post 10 in Harlan.

The Humane Society is currently offering a $4,100 cash reward to anyone with information that leads to an arrest and prosecution.
