LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - A busy Lexington road is reopen after a bad accident involving downed power lines had shut the road down Monday morning.

It happened around 11:30am on Georgetown Road near the Maple Grove Trailer Park.

Officials say the driver of a work truck crossed the center line, side-swiped a car, ran off the road and hit a utility pole before crashing through a fence.

We're told the driver of the truck was taken to UK hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The fire department tells us they had to us the jaws of life to cut out the driver and passenger from the car, both were also taken to UK hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The crash left power lines dangling over the highway.

Lexington police shut down Georgetown Road between Ironworks Pike and Berea Road for hours while Kentucky Utilities repairs the power lines.

The road reopened just before 4 Monday afternoon.
