Burger King robbed, employee's car stolen in Georgetown

GEORGETOWN, Ky. (WKYT) An employee arriving to work at the Burger King on Lexington Road in Georgetown found herself approached by a man on foot early Friday morning.

According to a Georgetown police lieutenant, the man demanded she disengage the alarm and let him in. It was unclear whether he threatened her with a weapon, but she did not report being injured.

Once inside, the man took money out of the safe, stole the woman's car keys, and drove off in her car.

While WKYT's Sean Evans was at the robbery scene with Georgetown police, they received a call over the radio that the woman's stolen car had been found at Southern Elementary School.
