Cheerleader hurt during UT-Martin-Kentucky game

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - Saturday's football game at Commonwealth Stadium was halted during the fourth quarter while medical personnel attended to an injured UK cheerleader on the sidelines.

Brooke Gibbs fell during a sideline cheer and was taken to the UK Chandler Hospital.

Details weren't immediately available about the cheerleader's condition. Her fall brought a hush over the crowd, and applause slowly grew as medical personnel stabilized the woman's head and neck and she was placed her on a board for transport to a hospital.

The cheerleader lay motionless for several moments before flashing the thumbs-up as she was carted out of Commonwealth Stadium.

UK released a statement earlier Saturday evening, saying Gibbs was treated and released from the hospital.
