Funeral arrangements set for Winchester man with kidney disease

WINCHESTER, Ky. (WKYT) - Friends and family tell WKYT that Jim Mccord, 68, of Winchester, passed away Sunday night. He was a husband and father.

Mccord was seeking a kidney he needed to save his life. His hometown of Winchester rallied behind the McCord's after a septic kidney stone caused him to need dialysis. He was put on a transplant list, but knew it could take up to five years to find a match. Jim's wife of 38 years, Polly, took her message to the street with signs saying, "Need Kidney for Husband".

Mccord's funeral is being handled by Scobee Funeral Home in Winchester. His visitation is set for Tuesday, December 3rd, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. His funeral will be held on Wednesday, December 4th, at 11 a.m.
