Contractor charged in connection with Lexington apartment thefts

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - A contractor is in jail, accused of burglarizing four apartments in the building where he worked.

Court documents show managers at a Devenport Drive apartment complex hired Patrick Crowe to paint hallways in one of their buildings, giving him a master key to get into the building.

When several residents reported missing items, police say they noticed a link between items Crowe had recently pawned off and the items that came up missing.

Crowe is charged with with Burglary and lodged at the Fayette County Detention Center.
