RICHMOND, Ky. (WKYT) - The Indiana doctor accused of pointing a gun at a driver was released from the Madison County detention center Wednesday morning.
WKYT obtained exclusive video that shows Dr. Perrin Dobyns as he's released from jail just before 10:30 Wednesday morning after posting a $2,500 cash bond.
Dobyns didn't have anything to say, but when asked why he pointed a gun at another driver, the woman he was with replied, "no comment."
Dobyns was released just two hours after pleading not guilty to first degree wanton endangerment during a video arraignment. He was calm and polite, much different than when we last saw him.
Over the weekend, police say Dobyns was driving on I-75 near exit 97 when another driver witnessed him driving recklessly. When that driver took cell phone video of the incident, Dobyns was caught pointing a gun and shooting it at the other driver.
With this video, police were able to quickly track down Dobyns at an Indiana correctional facility where he works as a doctor. He was brought back to the Madison County detention center from Indiana Tuesday afternoon.
Dobyns' preliminary hearing has been set for Wednesday, October 9.
