LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) - The effects of recent storms are caused some problems in Lexington Tuesday morning.
Traffic is moving now through parts of New Circle Road, but was slow-moving for awhile, due to high water. One lane of the outer loop, between Young Drive and Liberty road was closed. In addition, part of Georgetown Road at Iron Works Road was blocked, off because of flooding.
Flooding was not the only issue to cause problems overnight. Lexington firefighters said lightning may have been the cause of a small fire at a home on Longbridge lane off Saron Drive. Investigators said the dryer vent caught fire and damaged the home.
Several counties are still on flood watch as of Tuesday morning.
