GARRARD COUNTY, Ky. (WKYT) - Garrard County schools were placed on a brief lockdown Tuesday afternoon as a precaution after police received a tip of a domestic situation that may involve students at the school.
Garrard County Superintendent Paul Mullins says he received the call just after Noon from 911 dispatch telling him to place the schools on lock-down.
The Garrard County Sheriff's office confirms that they had received a call with information about a domestic situation where a parent had threatened to harm his wife and children. Those children were attending school at the Garrard County school system at the time.
Officials say they were able to quickly locate the suspect and the lockdown was lifted just after 1pm.
