ANDERSON COUNTY, Ky. (WKYT) - A grandmother, who was sentenced last month for abusing her grandchild, faced a judge again on Tuesday morning.

In January, 66-year-old Carolyn Case pleaded guilty to a criminal abuse charge. She admitted to using a curtain sash to tie her three-year-old grandchild to a bed for up to 16 hours a day.

The crime stemmed all the way back to 2012, but just last month, Case received a five year sentence. About a week and a half before that, she was also indicted on a new charge.

Case allegedly lied about her financial status in order to have a court-appointed attorney defend her on the abuse charge. Tuesday morning, Case pleaded 'not guilty' to first degree perjury.

Case's next court appearance is scheduled for April 22nd.

Her daughter and son-in-law are also charged in the 2012 abuse case. According to the Herald Leader, Case is scheduled to testify against them as a part of her plea deal.
