I-64 ramp to close this weekend in Franklin Co. for repairs

FRANKFORT, Ky. - The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet will temporarily close the entrance ramp from westbound US 60 (Versailles Road) to westbound Interstate 64 in Franklin County. The ramp closure is scheduled for this weekend in order to make concrete pavement repairs.

The entrance ramp from westbound US 60 to westbound I-64 will be closed from 7:00 p.m. on Friday, May 16 until 5:00 a.m. on Monday, May 19. Drivers should follow the signed detour via westbound US 60, KY 676 (East-West Connector) and US 127 then reconnect with westbound I-64.

The ramp from eastbound US 60 to westbound I-64 will remain open during this work.

This work is part of a $2.6 million project to resurface all lanes on Interstate 64 between the two Frankfort exits (mile points 53 to 58) and repair concrete pavement at three of the ramps at the I-64/US 60 interchange (Exit 58).

Contract crews are also cleaning the ditches along I-64 between mile points 53 and 58. Asphalt resurfacing will begin later this month.

The speed limit will be reduced to 55 MPH in the work zone and double fines will be enforced.

The date and duration of this work may be adjusted if inclement weather or other unforeseen delays occur.
