Jobs fair aims to help Louisville veterans

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) - U.S. Rep. John Yarmuth is hosting a jobs fair for veterans next month at Louisville Slugger Field.

A statement from Yarmuth's office says Louisville veterans, active-duty military and residents of Yarmuth's district will have the chance to meet with more than 50 local businesses during the event on Nov. 5.

The Small Business Administration will hold free workshops for veteran entrepreneurs.

Yarmuth, a Democrat, said the city should be doing everything possible to connect veterans returning home with good jobs.

Officials from the Veterans Administration and VA Medical Center will be available to assist veterans in applying for health, disability and education benefits.
