MURRAY, Ky. (AP) - Detectives in southwestern Kentucky are investigating after the remains of a woman were found near Murray in Calloway County.
Sheriff's Maj. Clayton Hendricks told the Murray Ledger & Times an officer on patrol found an abandoned car in a field that belonged to a missing person on Friday morning. Hendricks says a search team later found the woman lying in a field nearby.
Assistant Coroner Ricky Walls pronounced the woman deceased at the scene. The body will be transported to Louisville where an autopsy was scheduled for Saturday. The name of the victim will be released pending notification of the family.
