LONDON, Ky. (WKYT) - LONDON, Ky. (WKYT) - There’s a lot of speculation as to what or 'who' may be behind two house fires in two days on one Laurel county roadway.
“I was concerned this morning. When I got up and seen that. Anybody would be concerned,” said Stanley Goforth, who lives near the fires.
The owner of the house on the corner of Linda Lane and Waterworks says his tenant was out of town last night when something caught it on fire and quickly destroyed it. The fire happened just days after a suspicious fire destroyed an abandoned trailer up the road.
“I’m wondering if I’m next. We’re not home all the time here. And you never know. I hope they catch whoever done it,” said GoForth
The state police arson investigator worked the scene for several hours. Investigators say it’s too early to tell what the cause was.
”We’ve had two structure fires on the street. That is suspicious,” said Trooper Lloyd Cochran.
Not enough to definitely say arson but many in the area say they’re on edge.
“I’m concerned for my own home. You never know,” said Goforth.
No electricity was hooked up to the trailer and while the house did have electricity, the man who lived here had not been there in several days.
