LONDON, Ky. (WKYT) - Members of the Laurel County Sheriff's Department Special Response Unit caught a wanted escapee Friday night. A news release from the sheriff's office says deputies arrested 27 year-old Ryan Segraves around 5:30pm at a home. The arrest was the result of a tip through London –Laurel Crime Stoppers.
Deputies charged Segraves with wanton endangerment, escape, fleeing and evading police, and numerous other charges. He had been placed on the Sheriff’s Most Wanted list after a short pursuit along Brown Road on July 31, 2013. At the time deputies said Segraves got out of his vehicle and ran through a relative's home in the area before running out the back door and into some woods.
Authorities were also looking for Segraves for previously failing to appear in Laurel District Court on two bench warrants. Deputies say Segraves also escaped the back of a constable's cruiser on July 23. He was handcuffed in the back seat at the time but deputies say he managed to cut off the handcuffs.
Deputies arrested two other people at the home Segraves was discovered at on Friday. Deputies charged 25 year-old Shannon Johnson of Corbin and 29 year-old Alesha Wagers of London with hindering prosecution or apprehension.
