Lexington man charged after flashing gun following crash

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - A Lexington man faces several charges after pulling a gun out following a crash at New Circle Road and Russell Cave Road.

It happened around 1 p.m. Wednesday afternoon.

Police say 29-year-old Courtney Kidd ran a stop light and hit a car. Police say Kidd flashed a gun at the other driver.

An off-duty police officer that witnessed the crash stopped to help, police say Kidd took off. Police searched the area, police eventually arrested Kidd behind Galls on New Circle.

Police now say Kidd was involved in a domestic dispute before the crash, where he fired several shots at a woman.

Kidd is charged with wanton endangerment, assault, tampering with physical evidence, DUI and leaving the scene of an accident.
