Strong and severe thunderstorms will be possible late tonight. We'll be tracking strong winds, large hail and even a risk of isolated tornadoes.
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) – A little seven year old boy is in the fight of his life, battling cancer.
So, members of the church he belongs to decided to shave their heads as a show of solidarity.
When the congregation at Turning Point Church in Lexington became aware of Sonny Cohen's cancer diagnosis, Pastor Josh Mauney knew they had to do something.
“There’s a line in the Bible that says, ‘Hope deferred makes the heart sick’ and what I knew Sonny needed was hope,” said Mauney.
He and his wife, Kim, decided to invite barbers and stylists to last Sunday's service.
The result was member after member shaved their heads as a show of support- about 100.
“Sometime you just need someone to say, ‘Hey, I got your back,” said his wife, Kim Mauney.
The church also donated 10 ponytails to Locks of Love, which donates hairpieces to kids suffering from hair loss.
