Man charged after attack at Louisville immigration office

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) - A man has been arrested after federal officials say he attacked a clerk at the Citizenship and Immigration Services office at the federal courthouse in Louisville and later fought with court security.

Deng Wol Manyoun was in federal custody after the incident Friday morning at the Gene Snyder Federal Courthouse.

Deputy U.S. Marshal John S. Schaff wrote in an arrest affidavit that Manyoun threw his Department of Homeland Security identification card at a clerk, then reached under the protective glass at the counter in the office and knocked over several items.

A few minutes later, Schaff says Manyoun tried to throw a trash can at and kick a court security officer. An officer then tackled Manyoun.

Manyoun is scheduled for arraignment on Wednesday. Court records did not list an attorney.
