Man charged with threatening Kentucky senator

UNION, Ky. (AP) - Police have arrested a man in northern Kentucky for allegedly threatening to kill a state senator.

The Kentucky Enquirer reports 47-year-old Kurt Lowe is charged with terroristic threatening and fleeing or evading police. He is accused of making the threat against state Sen. John Schickel, and then fleeing when police attempted to serve him a warrant on the charge.

The newspaper reports the threat came after Lowe filed an ethics complaint against Schickel, but was told that an investigation turned up no evidence to support the allegations.

Lowe was lodged in the Boone County jail, which did not list an attorney for him in online records.

A preliminary hearing was set for Monday in Boone District Court.
