PADUCAH, Ky. (AP) - A western Kentucky man who police say shot his wife and then burned the couple's home has been indicted on arson and murder charges.
Keith Griffith was arrested in January after officials found the body of his wife inside their Reidland home in McCracken County.
The Paducah Sun reports 55-year-old Griffith was indicted on murder, arson and evidence tampering charges on Friday. Griffith also faces a count of second-degree animal cruelty for dead dogs found after the fire.
An autopsy on his wife, Julie Griffith, showed she had been shot three times before the fire.
Police have surveillance video showing a vehicle matching Griffith's truck pulling into his neighborhood just before the fire started.
Griffith is in jail on a $1 million bond.
