Man tries to steal steaks, attacks employees at Lexington Wal-mart

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - A man is in jail this morning after police say he tried to steal steaks from a Lexington Wal-mart by hiding them inside his jacket.

According to his arrest citation, 34-year-old Jerason Banks was caught trying to leave the Wal-mart on Nicholasville Road without paying for steaks he was concealing inside his jacket.

When he was caught my loss prevention, the report say she pulled out a bottle of pepper spray and sprayed two of the employees before trying to flee.

Banks was caught a second time trying to leave the store and was detained until police arrived.

The two employees were treated on scene for minor skin irritation from the pepper spray, Banks was treated for a small cut on his head.

Banks is charged with Robbery 2nd. He is currently lodged at the Fayette County Detention Center.
