One treated for smoke inhalation in Lexington house fire

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - An early morning fire at a home on Boxwood Drive left a family scrambling to escape.

The call originally came in to the Lexington Fire department as a fire in the kitchen. When firefighters arrived, they found flames had spread to the attic.

Fire officials say one person made it out before the fire trucks arrived. That person had to be treated for smoke inhalation on scene.

Firefighters remained on the scene for several hours overnight. The cause is still under investigation.
